Women from Giheka started sewing training.
In this session 60 poor/unemployed women and drop out girls started sewing training among 129 registered
women to participate in this type of training. The first training session will be done in six months.

Busy Bees Foundation Activities 2021 - 2022
1. Tailoring and Sewing
Busy Bees Foundation empowering unemployed women, widowers, drop out girls and youth in Tailoring and sewing
Busy Bees Foundation is involved in capacity building of unemployed women, widowers and drop out girls by empowering and providing them opportunities to access basic tailoring and sewing skills so as to enable them attain self-reliance sustainability. The training gives them a chance to do something meaningful even with a limited education. By providing tailoring and sewing training for 6 months, they can full fill their daily bread and meeting school expenses of their children.
30 unemployed women, widowers and drop out girls each year learn to sew and learn how to run a small tailoring business from their homes. Unemployed women, widowers and drop out girls start the course not knowing the basics but they complete the course with a promising future for themselves and their families.
In addition, during the training, they are given short courses on family planning and how they can create the culture of saving.
2. Kitchen garden/Akarima k’igikoni
There is no need to be slave of market, Busy Bees has solution for you in growing vegetable in a small surface at home - kitchen garden.lage and this area of explotation can be expanded as the foundation grows.
Busy Bees Foundation assists women to grow vegetable in kitchen garden in order to provide food at low cost and to fight malnutrition in the community. Short training of 3 months is provided to different families around the school on how to grow dodo, beetroot, cabbage, green beans, green pepper, cucumber, onions, egg plants, carrots among other.
3. Karate Club
Reinforcement of the Busy Bees Foundation karate team.
BBF established a karate team and, since 2015, the karate sessions have been regularly taking place either in classroom or at basketball pitch at Busy Bees Foundation School. The team now has a high-grade karate coach holding a black belt with 2nd Dane. Other senior karatekas have brown belts, blue belts and green belts. The junior group of novices has belts ranging from white through yellow to orange.
Though the team has managed to win cups in the last competitions, the target for 2019 is to bring as many medals as possible and win all karate championship cups at the team’s competition level. The foundation is committed to provide for all financial and logistic needs of the athletes to ensure their fitness and readiness for victory.


Never-Again 25 Karate Competitions 2019 Never-Again 25 Karate Competitions 2019 were held at Rwanda National Stadium Amahoro at Remera, where Busy Bees Foundation (BBF) Karate teams were the winners of the competition and won the trophy alongside two Never-Again 25 medals.


On 3rd October, 2021, BBF Karate club was passing its team members were they were given different belts ranging from white belt, orange belt, blue belt, yellow belt, green belt, brown belt, and black belt. Karate is very effective and good for self-defense, exercise and a real-life fighting situation.
4. Mushroom growing
Busy Bees Foundation teaches its community in Kagugu cell how to grow mushrooms.
Busy Bees Foundation involves in mushroom growing because mushrooms are a good source of vitamin B, C and D. They have the potential to ensure a sustainable economy as well as nutritional security. The community is trained for 3 months and follow-ups made to help the members of the community where they have got some issues.
5. Assisting Street Children
Busy Bees Foundation celebrates a new year with street kids 28/12/2021.
You do not have to belong to volunteer group to reach out to the needy; Busy Bees Foundation gives advice and counseling to street kids (children). We had good time with them celebrating New Year 2021. Food, clothes and shoes have been provided to street kids around Giheka community.
6. Health Insurance/ Mutuel de santé
Busy Bees Foundation is involved in Health Insurance to support people in Giheka village.
Each year since 2015, Busy Bees Foundation is committed to pay health insurance for 30 individuals who are selected from the local community basing on well structured objective criteria through consultation with local governance authorities.
7. Handcrafts
In this beadwork enterprise, the smile on the face means how proud ladies are for the right step made.
Busy Bees Foundation has supported unemployed women by providing training handcrafts including basketry and jewellery products such as table tidy, bags, wallets, key holders, etc.
8. Tofu production
Tofu is prepared by these women. Out of the soya crop, Women prepare Tofu and generate pretty good income from it.
